Sudanese studies at Durham University

SSSUK has always had a strong link with Sudanese Studies at Durham University. International Sudan Studies Conferences were hosted there in 1991 and 2000. The University's library houses the Sudan Archive which is particularly strong in unpublished papers and photographs from the Condominium and Mahdist periods. Past custodians of the Archive still serve on the Society's Committee.
