On 5th May 2020, SSSUK hosted an online event covering the 2018 Sudanese revolution and the prospects for lasting democracy in the country. The event featured Dr Magdi El-Gizouli, Mr Ali Abdel Latif, Prof Jok Madut Jok and Dr Willow Berridge. It was moderated by Dr Abdel Azim Al Hassan

On May 20, SSSUK hosted an online event featuring the experiences of health workers from Sudan, South Sudan and the UK during the coronavirus pandemic. The event featured Dr Sara Abdelgalil, Dr Eluzai Abe Hakim, Dr Marwa Gibril and Dr Nicki Kindersley.
